Americamanta Bio

The oldest musical traditions of Latin America are those interpreted by the indian population extended throughout the modern nations currently known as Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.
When the Spaniards arrived at the begining of the 16th century they found a population ruled by the Inca empire, one of the most important civilizations in the Americas.
   

At present the good qualities of the Inca Empire remain alive in the musical tradition with some variations from region to region, such as rhythm or   dialects of the songs.
AMERICAMANTA is an indigenuos musical group from Otavalo-Ecuador. The group has been performing together for the past 20 years in South America, Europe and during the past 15 years in USA. Each member plays a great variety of instruments from the Inca Culture such as: Zamponias (pan pipes), Kenas (bamboo flutes), charangos (ten string small guitar), drums and Native American wood flutes. All these instruments played beautifuly will transport imaginary to the mountains and valleys of the heart of PACHA MAMA (mother earth), immitating the sound of the rivers and waterfalls.


In the world of different types of music over time the music performed with acoustic traditional instruments are popular for its easy listening and relaxing atmosphere.
Jaime Yacelga as a founder of traditional flutes and Pan pipes musical group AMERICAMANTA has performed at many art shows and festivals throughout the USA.   At this time performing native music is a consumate perfomer playing different types of bamboo and wood flutes recorded in professional Cds.
